Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore.
These 3 are neighbouring countries so you can go to all 3…cool.

Good Luck!!
I have throroughly enjoyed my three trips to China. Once involved the usual city tours and the Great Wall. The next time I visited Xi’an and Chengdu. My last visit was to Sanya, the southermost city in China, on Hainan Island.
You can find many English speaking people on the internet who may help show you around or you can take one of the many reasonably-priced tours. I recommend Friendly Planet. It is a very good value.
You may also be able to combine a Yangtze river cruise with a land tour.
Try to go to Chengdu. It is in Sechuan Province in central China. The food is usually quite hot, but the surrounding mountains and rivers are quite scenic. You can also visit the Panda breeding center which is quite enjoyable.
Your money goes pretty far in China. There are many comfortable hotels for under $50 per night. Meals ande transportation are also inexpensive. Also, quite a few people speak English.
Two words of caution: ATM machines are not pervasive and foreigners usually have to use the central bank’s machines. If you plan to visit Hong Kong, know that you need a separate visa. If you forget, it will cost you to get back into mainland China.
Good luck!
Well, it depends on the time of year and what you want to do on your vacation.
I live in Japan, and it’s a pretty good place for a vacation if you’re interested in visiting temples, hiking in the mountains, shopping (in Tokyo and Osaka). There are a lot of interesting things to try out and do.
If you’re a bit braver and more adventurous, China could be fun. I visited there once. One thing to be prepared for though is that there is quite a bit of pollution and it’s pretty unsanitary. I had a bit of culture shock here. (I visited China after living in Japan for a year. Japan is very clean and safe.)
Korea is also fun. The food is just a little bit spicy, but very good.
I haven’t visited, but a lot of people recommend Bali and Thailand for the beaches.
What I really recommend you to do is go to a bookstore and check out Lonely Planet Travel Guides for a few countries. This will give you a much better idea of what the different countries have to offer. Whichever country you do decide to visit, I highly recommend buying the Lonely Planet Travel Guide for it. They are great for giving an overview of the country, and recommending restaurants, hotels, and sightseeing spots. There is also good information about immigration procedures, how to call home, names of foods in English and the local language. I have to say that the guide for China really saved me when I was there.
Have fun!!
Philippines!
I will be in the Philippines this winter for 2 weeks too. Can’t wait enough. I might go to Saipan and Guam, airfare is only $200 from Manila
I think S. Korea would be a good place to visit. Here’s a great site on touring to Korea: http://tour2korea.com/
