Is there an Asian Holiday around this time of year?
seems like everyone has a holiday in the middle of the winter, i am interrested in any Asian customs around this time.
ok a bit too general in the asking there…
the religions that were practiced in the asian countries before the Christian influence hit.
and i guess it could go for any Asian country. (not trying to generalise all Asian people together here, i guess answers about all Asian coltures would be best)i do not know of any holidays that they celebrate around this time of year.

Asia harbors many religions including Islam, hindu, Buddists, and people who dont believe in god. there is a muslim holiday called EID this sunday. its not always around this time though. Islamic calender works differently and this year the two holidays are days apart but not every year.
Pakistan, Sudia Arab, Iran, Iraq they are all part of Asia and they are all Muslim countries. They are all going to be clebebrating EID this sunday 31st. Its a muslim holiday where we have to sacrifice an animal and thousands of muslims go to Mecca to walk around the Kabba ( house of god on earth)
the only one I can think of off the top of my head is the Chinese new year, but that is only in another month and a half.
That’s vague. People in Japan, Korea, etc. etc. celebrate Christmas too, although the majority of their populations are not Christian. Christmas in Japan is generally about parties and isn’t considered a holiday.
The second Monday in January is celebrated as “Coming of Age Day” in Japan. This is celebrated by all who will turn 20 during the coming school year.
I don’t know if continents have holidays. You would have to specify a religion or a country.
