In what Asian country does your money go the absolute farthest?
With the dollar very week, I’m looking to vacation in an asian country that my money goes the farthest. I want to live like a king (albeit briefly) and not spend a lot of money. Thanks!!!

I live in South Korea and travel to Japan three or four times a year. Korea is by far the cheaper of the two…for whatever that’s worth to you.
Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia. All those are pretty cheap.
Viet Nam, Cambodia, and Indonesia (except Bali) are your best bets. We were in Thailand last month, and everything was a lot more expensive than when we were there five years ago.
I would say Laos. Many people say Thailand, and Cambodia are cheap, but Laos is even cheaper. And most would agree that the people there are friendlier too!
A typical massage costs $10 at most places in Thailand, while a typical massage costs $2 in Laos (just a regular massage, nothing like you know…). Food is generally cheaper, say $1-2 a meal, or if you want. I went to this French restaurant in Vientiane, supposibly the best restaurant in the country. When I went, all I saw were diplomats. A table of 5, with appitizers, desserts, wine, etc, came up to $80…and this is the BEST, MOST EXPENSIVE restaurant in the country!
I am part Lao, and when I went back last year for a visit. I would withdraw $100 and it’ll last me for days on end. Hotels are typically cheap, I paid as low as $7 for a very nice room with ac, nice view, etc. To as high as $35 for a room at what use to be a palace..
